What will you do to support our troops?
Beyond waving flags and car purchases stickersw we civilians have virtually nothing to support our troops. This is my major beef with the war at this point. Many people say "if you support the war, enlisting. Well, we sent troops into battle undersupported, with multiple extensions of the service tower, and Walter Reed as an example of how wounded vets can be treated. Plus we were told that there will be progress "Any Day Now" for ages. It does not currently have confidence. I'm not withdraw from Iraq, but I am also against a half-assed war in which a small number of individuals and their families pay a terrible price when we are sitting around. So what would you do to support the troops? Support a project and / or enlisting? pay more taxes? Reduce your consumption energy? And if you're from the family of a soldier, what would you like to see the rest of the country with the help shoulder the burden?
Myself? I joined. This is not only the family of soldiers who read this stuff. Im active duty Air Force at Camp Bucca, Iraq. Me and my friends here all feel that the best thing that can be done is to support the show. It is really important to us all that people remember that if you are for or against the war, the troops do not control what happens. Either for war or do not, but anyway, support of our men and women over here sacrifice their time and risk their lives to defend a country they love. It's everyday stuff we go through when starting to suck it feels like people from home do not care, or worse, are against us. Your politcal beliefs are yours, but the support of the United States here. Support your troops, remembering how your family is precious and that people give up their way, you can have yours. Support your troops remembering that this is not a chess bipartisan. People lose their lives, so it is a subject that will be treated with respect. Support your troops by supporting military spending. Maybe not in the areas of operations and strategic command, but in the areas of equipment and preparation.
