UFC 111: St. Pierre Vs. Hardy Live Streaming Match Preview
Continuing to look for some good action this month on UFC MMA / I'll watch the big show. UFC 111: St. Pierre vs. Hardy offers some value in the MIR / Carwin match-up and Alves / Fitch match-up.
paris Online Sports have Mir and Carwin to -140 to 110. With Mir on the way back and looking better than ever, it is favored to win in this match-up against a tight great wrestler and a solid fighter who is dangerous used to finish the fight in the first round. Carwin has been waiting for this fight and I expect it is more than ready. Carwin is undefeated and wants a title shot, he has a lot on the line.
The only way I can see Mir lose is if he tries to prove he is as difficult as Carwin. Mir bouncer and he certainly has a ego, but it seems as intelligent and dedicated. Mir should avoid trying to prove that it is as difficult as Carwin and instead prove that he is a fighter smarter than Carwin.
If Mir can do it through the first round, it should eventually be able to put some of his presentation skills to use. After this first round, I expect Carwin Press for the withdrawal and try to look for Mir-ground and pounds. This is when I see Mir take control of the fight.

The other possibility for the value to the UFC 111 is Fitch vs. Alves. Currently paris online sports have Alves -135 to 105 Fitch. last Alves fight was a unanimous decision loss to GSP at UFC 100. At UFC 87, Fitch has suffered a loss under the GSP as well. Like Alves chance here though.
This is the second time these two fighters are face to face. While Fitch beat Alves via TKO in the second round of the UFC: Ultimate Fight Night 5 in 2006, I think Alves has had more impressive victories over better opponents lately. Excluding the loss to GSP for the title, Alves was commander in his last fights. That's what earned him the title match at UFC 100. With strong research recently Alves, Fitch last six fights ended in decisions.
I do not think I could survive Fitch Alves and I do not think Alves getting caught again by Fitch. Fitch is a tough customer and if he will standing trade and marry, but it does not seem to have the KO power that large coherent and Alves has to offer. That said, Fitch does stop with some Alves effective kicks and punches when they last saw.
I am not one of paris on it but I'm looking for a second round KO Alves. What I'm going to bet on Alves is good for the victory to -135. It is a good value to me.
Keep an eye on the lines that we are several weeks out and they can start moving a bit as we approach the fight. Mir -150 and -135 to Alves.
These are my choices for UFC 111 to date.
