Ground broken on the treadmill … Can I still plug in and use it for now?
Ok, someone stumbles the cord to my treadmill and the earth itself off. I know that the third component is a safety device and I will try to replace outlet when I can (afford it). But in the meantime I can always connect the treadmill at home and use it? I finally got in an exercise routine and I do not want to stop now … I'm sure many of you know how difficult it is to come back in the groove after get a long pause, no? And does anyone know how much I should expect to pay someone to replace the electrical outlet? It would be too great to take to repair, so we should do in my house. Or is this something I can buy a "kit" and myself? Thank you for your time, everyone!
Yes, you can still use it, but you should replace it. It is there for a reason. You can go to a hardware store and buy a new candle. There will be 3 son, black (hot), white (common) and green (earth). Cut the cable enough so you can see what color returns that part When you wire the new one. The wide blade / pin should have the white (common) and green wire goes to the third prong or ground. Be careful and good luck. Oh, and the Black (hot) goes to pin size.
