Tesco One Body Cross-Trainer – lack of power?

I have a Tesco One Body Cross-Trainer which appears to be broken. There seems to be no tension then when you use the pedals spin freely too. I tried to adjust the tension, but by turning the knob does nothing. I had a look on the cable, but can not find anything wrong. I got about 18 months now so it is under warranty and it worked perfectly until recently. Has anyone else had the same problem with one of these?
