Why the PS1 and PS2 so successful, but the PSP and PS3 have been commercial failures?
While the PS1 was technically inferior the Nintendo 64, and perhaps even the Sega Saturn, and two of the best games of all time, like Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time have been on the Nintendo 64, the Playstation has dominated his generation because of a strong third-party support and great games like Metal Gear Solid, Grand Turismo and Crash Bandicoot. PS2 arrives and tramples on all the Dreamcast, Gamecube, and Xbox. It beats even the PS1. Sony stole the crown from Nintendo, and this for two solid generations. Times have changed. PSP planned to take the crown from Nintendo in the handheld market. It was not terribly. With a bit more sales than the Sega Saturn, the PSP has almost maxed out, with not much hope left. The Nintendo DS has won this round. Playstation 3 … It has completely imploded. With a launch worse than or equal to the Sega Saturn it may be doomed. But why and how? How did Sony go up and down so fast?
The thing about Sony is now their prices. Their systems Console soared as regards the retail price, so people are not rushing to get it. I mean, the Wii is less than half the price of the PS3 and people want to enter the third generation ASAP so they buy a Wii. The graphics can be compared to the PS3, the PS3 is but yah supreme, but their price is a burden for them.
