For Men – Size Matters!
The media is saturated with weight loss and announcements to help women lose weight. However, according to recent reports, a greater percentage of men are overweight or obese – 67.1% of men compared to 56.1% of women – which makes them vulnerable to serious health problems. How does this affect overweight men and what can be done about it?
For men, fertility is an important factor to encourage them to lose weight. Overweight and obesity can reduce sperm count by 25%, a major obstacle which greatly affects the chances of conceiving.
Being overweight can also cause men to feel depressed, have low energy levels, decreased libido and low self-esteem. Medical conditions such as high cholesterol – often the result of poor diet – And insulin resistance [an early indicator of diabetes type 2] can also affect sexual performance, which affects the desire, particularly in men.
Design is not the only area where men think their weight is holding them back. Many Overweight men with families feel they are beside a chance to enjoy family life to the fullest. Simple things like not be able to play football with their children or the humiliation of not being able to take part in the race of the father's school sport day can have a real impact on their self-esteem and family life.
Finally, if a diminished sex life, fertility problems and an inability to enjoy family life at all is not motivation enough, a survey revealed that nine of the ten directors of human resources rather would offer employment to a person of normal weight obese a candidate with similar qualifications. This may be something to consider if you ask for another job or hoping that the long-awaited promotion.
So what can you do to get those extra pounds, but retaining your masculinity? Nobody expects that you put on your leotard and join an aerobics class, but there are many ways you can move the weight. Why not join your local gym, meet friends in a park for a football game or to take walking or cycling with your family on a regular basis?
Try to build more incidental activity in your life, walking instead of driving to the local shop, to be active in the garden or taking the dog out for long walks.
If you are serious about the fight against your eating habits and increased your exercise then consider joining a slimming group. Slimming groups are not only designed for women and now answer many health conscious men men.For who are concerned about their weight – and you want to lose weight rapidly – there are many opportunities to do so. To join a gym to take the dog for walks more, the possibilities are endless weight loss.
