Marathon Running
After a marathon, is it really necessary to wait a week before resuming the race?

I just ran my first marathon. Most articles I read suggest you wait a week and ten days before starting again, owing to mico-tears in the muscles. Is 100% necessary? I was a little anxious to hit the road?

You have many leg muscle micro-tears immediately after a marathon. Running too early is that these tears heal more slowly. Everyone is different, but here's what I get on a stationary bike for 1-2-3 hours a day during the week after the marathon, I also use light hand weight on the bike to mimic running for a drive Full body. In this way, I maintain fitness without exacerbating the tears. Several times I was able to run marathons one week apart fast without steps in between, with the second marathon than a few minutes faster than the first.

This film about Ethiopian distance runner Haile Gebrsellasie, who won gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and is considered one of the greatest runners of all time, is a dramatization that often appears to be a documentary. Beautifully photographed, the footage shot in Haile’s native land is often spectacular enough to make you think you’re watching a National Geographic special. Haile’s young life,…
