Why does gum Shields (Mouthguard) make you sick?

I have a mouth guard (Mouth Guard) and each time I put on, I feel sick like I'm about to vomit. Why and how can I prevent it? Thank you in advance.

Yout can reduce your mouthguard shorter? Personally, I took a hot knife and just cut. Then you heat the knife to smooth the edges. be careful.
