The Garmin Forerunner 50 w / accelerometer work abroad?
I bought my girlfriend a Garmin Forerunner 50 pedometer and heart rate monitor for Christmas. She will study abroad next semester in Denmark, and I want to know if the accelerometer (GPS enabled remote monitor) will work there. I know some other Garmin products only work in the U.S. unless you pay extra. Is anyone know if this is the case with the Forerunner 50?
Forerunner 50 does not use GPS. The accelerometer more or less functions like a pedometer comparable to the Nike Plus system. If you want GPS, you need to change to something like the Forerunner 205, 305 or 405. Your problem compatibility would be with the electrically charged. It seems that the Forerunner 50, Heart Rate Monitor, and accelerometer all CR2032 batteries use. Until someone has the batteries, the device works wherever you go. The accelerometer interacts wirelessly with the Sleep and nothing else.
