In rugby what would you do to get the fitness and strength?
Your best options have already been covered, but you can focus your training for your position, if you're a tight forwards to concentrate more on building power with weight and speed in short training, if you go back to work the speed and endurance race combinations. Repetitive speed training endurance produces Rugby style better than long distances. If you are a coward before or midfield back, you may need to balance the two types of training. All Rugby require a better upper body strength to take and give impact and control of the collision zone of attack. Hope that helps for starters.
