How do you put off the flame in the gas fireplace? clicked out of control, but the fire is always lit.?

our company gas is a scam, so I better use a portable electric heater. even if I turn off the foyer, there is always a fire burning and minimal course consumes gas.

It is the witness. You can not turn it off. My mother-in-law gas fireplace is in this way. The Ours is not so I guess this is the model of household rather than the gas company.
