have difficulty with Dynaflex powerball?

i just cannot seem to get it running. I start it and can it speed up a decent speed, but can not hold for maybe 15 seconds before it gives way. I sometimes got to go fast enough to where his speed more stable and I could easily go hands or something without losing any momentum. ive tried various movements of my hands, but not feel it accelerate faster. advice? I just found mine at the Academy
