Blue White
How can I whiten a dark blue / white striped shirt all white?
The shirt is 60% cotton and 40% polyester. It's just an old shirt I've had it for years and I thought I could try bleaching white shirt redesigned. I love the shape so I hoped I could get some more use out of it. It is predominatly dark blue, so I do not know if its possible to get more out of every color.
It will be almost impossible. The amount of bleaching chemicals required would destroy the shirt. One way that might work is to let the shirt in the sun to bleach. You will need several months (have to rotate the exposed parts of the shirt) very high temperatures with a low humidity to accomplish this, but most likely, the dark blue will become dirty, dull bluish gray. Sorry.
